Stagger Jewellery Care 101
Stagger jewellery is made to be worn, lived in, and stand out, but even bold pieces need care to maintain their edge. Crafted from recycled 925 sterling silver and 2.5-micron 18k gold vermeil, our designs balance strength with refinement. While resistant to water, sweat, and the ocean, they’ll last even longer with the right attention.
Take care of your Stagger jewellery, wear it with confidence, and follow the tips below to keep it looking its best for years to come.

How Do I Keep My Rings From Losing Their Shape?
Stagger pieces may look raw and rugged, but they still need care. Over time, regular wear adds character, but too much pressure or friction can physically alter the surface or shape, especially with rings.
To keep yours intact, remove it before any heavy-duty work or intense activity. And as tempting as it is, don’t just toss it into your bag, store it somewhere safe, like your Stagger metal box. Rings can bend under weight or impact, so be mindful of what your hands are doing.
Can I Go Swimming With My Jewellery?
Yes, your Stagger jewellery can handle water. Our pieces are built to withstand the elements, but to keep them looking their best long-term, a quick rinse and dry after exposure is always a good move.
Just a heads-up: temperature changes can affect the size of your hands, so be mindful of your rings during colder months to avoid losing them in the surf.
Do I Need To Take Extra Care Of My Jewellery With Stones?
Adding stones to a jewellery piece does require a bit of extra care.
The two most common reasons a stone may fall out are due to the setting deforming from wear or the epoxy glue weakening from heat exposure.
We recommend removing stone pieces before showering, washing your hands, or using heat dryers to ensure they stay secure.
How Do I Prevent My Jewellery From Oxidising?
If your pieces are unworn for long periods, you may notice discolouration and dull tinting across the surface. As simple as it might sound, wearing your jewellery will keep your piece from oxidising over time, thanks to the natural oils in your skin, which actually prevent tarnishing.
To ensure your pieces stand the test of time, store all jewellery in the original Stagger pouch and metal box, away from direct sunlight when not in use. Prolonged exposure to air pollutants can cause the gold vermeil and sterling silver to oxidise, altering the colour and texture of your jewellery.
We also advise avoiding harsh cleaning chemicals while wearing jewellery and being mindful of perfumes and skin products, which can impact the metal and encourage oxidisation.
How Should I Clean My Jewellery?
To clean your jewellery, gently wipe it with Stagger's microfiber cloth to remove dirt and oils. Avoid using tissue or paper towels, as they can scratch the surface.
